  2. When that showed up on my screen...that was the breaking point for me. I had enough of this half broken piece of crap. Ladders won't even fucking work while they work in L4D1.

Had enough of Valve's incompetence of not fixing these problems that we encounter that WE the community notify all the time.

I had enough, my patience ran out for good.

  4. It's a shame you've decided to cut your work for such an inconvenience. Especially since you came so far in your work. Well your choice.

  5. I had problems with this nav bullshit since day one (over a year now) with L4D2 and was naive to think that Valve would respond to it within that time.

The first map BARELY worked when it came to the nav mesh, it still doesn't work 100%. You will receive "Map Unplayable" or no Commons spawned at all if you restart enough times.

I ran out of patience, i can't to this shit anymore.

  6. Your work is great, and i respect you and your work, but i want to say one unpleasant thing to you - you need to work faster, no matter what it cost. The time not standing still, and while you are working at one thing, others are working at their things. You can just find oneself behind the current events.
Now, i hope you calm down and finish your current work. Maybe you have stopped in one step from great success. Don't be fool, keep going forward!
Sorry if i have been too rude.

  7. Maybe you should take some time off the project, and return to it whenever you feel motivated again. I hope you won't drop the campaign entirely. Your L4D1 campaign was great, and a lot of people are really looking forward to this.

  8. Also, sorry for double posting, but I thought of sharing the link: http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/02/23/valve-working-on-making-source-%20sdk-less-painful-to-use

  9. Anon: I didn't map 24/7, i mapped when i felt like it during the year. Also, its not about the tools, it is the things that should work, keep working, stop breaking the things that worked that i got fucking tired of. Valve does this all the time and i get sick and tired of it, them breaking things that worked.

Well Dante, you disappoint me I'm sorry to say but your ignorance surprised me more then you think. Do not worry though, everyone that has no idea how much time and effort it takes to do a project like this, has never made a campaign, map or even a source mod. You said i should go even faster? There are things called a Job (school if you are younger) Social Life (friends and family) and i might have other hobbies as well then sitting in front of a computer screen 24/7.

I made up my mind already about this long time ago, no point of begging me of going back so i can get more headaches and the frustration building up...no thanks I'm fine without that thank you.

  10. Yes, i never made a full map, and of course i have no idea how much time and effort it takes to do a project like this, i may only imagine this. But i know that if you wish do something quality and do this fast, you need help. You can't create such scaled campaign in reasonable time alone, if it is your hobbie, not your job. Or you can do this alone, but you need more patience and time.

That incident just shown you, that it is time to change something.

  11. Again....Dante...you have no clue what is really going on.

If you had worked on the source engine as i mentioned...you would known better.

This is the last time i speak of this subject. No point of discussing it anymore, because i already moved on a long time ago AND PEOPLE NEEDS TO get that into their heads.

  12. I have the clue. I have been waiting for a long time this campaign, now you abandoned this project. You deceived my expectations and not only mine. You very disappointed me. Well, too bad for you not for us. I quit, i had enough.

P.S.Delete this blog, it's useless now.

  13. I agree with Dante, you have disappointed a lot of people by giving up on this project. You told me that you would think about giving your project material to someone else if they asked for it. I suggest that you post your material on the L4D maps website or email it to a map developer you know. Your campaign is one of the best I have ever seen, and I am determined to see that it doesn't die.

  14. Dante: (seems like i have to repeat myself since you read between the lines all the time and read whats interesting for you, stay on the damn topic)

Holy mother...its like talking to a wall here.

What really pisses ME of is that YOU think you know what was really going on.
YOU have ZERO clue of what is like to WORK WITH the Source Engine especially when it comes to a game that is half broken in the first place, and when Valve takes their fucking time to fix one thing we (community) complained about FOR YEARS and they don't do a fucking thing...tires me and pisses me of.
It was NEVER about i needed more people on this, i mapped when i felt like it, never felt a pressure of some sort, no stress.
I liked what i was doing when things WORKED as intended.

Have a talk with Adam Sierra (i talk to him on vent a lot) (silent fear, skydive) and he can give you his life story when it comes to the SDK and L4D series in general. HE understands why i gave up because HE KNOWS WHY.

This is what i expect people to react when they believe in a thing called "hype" that YOU generated for yourselves.
I never deceived anyone. I posted my progression here and on youtube for people to look at if they are interested in the first place(player or mapper). I never forced anyone to watch this blog or the videos.
Holy shite....its a campaign not your life savings.

STOP believing in HYPE of any sort, then you won't get disappointed. I stopped believing in it 10 years ago.

If this was a Source Mod, things would be fine. No point though, since the BSP version is newer on l4d2 and the vmf's (could always export the vmf's to "DX" when i feel like it) are fucked and im sick of Source as a whole.

This is a classic: "Well, too bad for you not for us."
Its the opposite for me. I never lost anything in the first place, i only learned more how stupid (have to repeat myself all the time, i stopped answer questions that weren't useful) and ignorant people (the community and people in general) can be when they don't get what they want. People are selfish.
There are good people out there as well, they are a dying breed. There are a lot of them on L4dmaps.com that doesn't WHINE and takes it like a man and moves on.

tinuviel451: When i give something like a map, everyone is happy. When i ask for help...its dead quiet for some reason. When i give all my work away, they take it and don't even say thank you (i gave away all the VMF's from my SH campaign for L4D1 because they asked how i did stuff)...as i said, not even a fucking thank you.

I see (all of you as well) commercial games get canceled here and there that i find interesting. I just raise my shoulders and forgets it and move on with my life.

This blog stays here so these people knows why (this rage post up there) i stopped for good.
And if there's anymore questions that you have, let me know.

    Have a pleasant day
    /Leafo
