Small update regarding the misson file and one more thing.

I have been struggling to get the %"#¤&%#¤# mission file to work. Left 4 Dead 2 couldn't find my mission file since i updated everything since October LAST year.
Now, it worked by itself...now i even more motivated to finish this now i got my test campaign working in a way. The real fun begins to even start getting the real campaign to work.
I have no clue or idea why the mission file refused to work before, this was the reason the Beta never got released earlier.

Another thing is that i am doing, are concepts of areas for a map(s), trying out textures (these textures, i fixed those to more of a realistic approach) and overall design.

Now i am going to expand the design towards a brand new level. I have a whole lot of reference shots i captured to give me a kick in the butt in the right direction to stay on track. One more thing, i didn't use a single entity that says "light" on it. These light sources are only coming from Glowing Textures.

A demo of the old method (which worked of course on the first try) that i totally forgot that i could use.

Work....ing on the last map.

Since i now know how this campaign shall end, design and story wise, i had to start working on that last map. The design matter is complicated and time consuming since i have to use world brushes as the geometry for that map. Of course you say, but models could be used for that as well.
Custom props might add the actual feel for the overall theme, but i do nor have the time or the will to even think about it at this time.

I wish i could post pictures of the work i do on that last map, it is nowhere of what i want and it is only in a alpha stage, no custom textures, half broken color correction and weird lighting. That would also give away a little to much information then intended.

I will post in game pictures when i got the lighting and stuff right. I hope these will be more then fine.
These are taken from the new town i decided to rework.

Campaign update.

First post.

I have been working on by reworking the town completely, i was never satisfied whit the results from the old one i uploaded on Youtube here and here.
I have watched tv series and read books about how i could take that problem to an another step, to get rid of the problem. The town will feel more like a lake town that has a small harbor, surrounded with pine trees in a valley. Sounds familiar? But it is not that what you might think of.

I planned to make the town more linear, but at the same time it's not, changes almost every time you play it on each retry.
