This is the End.

I've asked myself this question recently; Why did i still continuing creating Campaigns despite the issues?

The answer is simple in this case. I like to be creative.

That was then, but now, i am sick and tired of the negligence from Valve when it comes to Not Give Us the needed support that we need for L4D1 and 2. I have seen and also been told that the Team Fortress 2 community even GETS NEW ENTITY'S that they required for the their maps. The continued support for that game is ridiculous compared to any other Valve games.

People have waited over a YEAR for my new Silent Hill campaign....i have waited over 2,5 years for VALVE to get their thumb out of their ass to fix the BROKEN things that WE wanted to be fixed for so long. DON'T IGNORE the community Valve, because they will abandon you in a flash. I have been VERY patient and waited for something like a update or notification that lets us know if we should even bother continue waiting or even move on to something else. The HL 1 days are over when it comes to caring for the community.

The Alien Trilogy: Section 1 campaign is my very last breath (second chance) i gave to the fucks at Valve that ignores the simplest thing that was needed to be addressed. Took a year to give us the custom sound support for L4D 1 that WE ALREADY HAVE FOR SOURCE MODS?! Six months for the authoring tools when they frigging promised on day one.

The way Valve did to HAT Fortress 2 was clever....but you made me stop stop playing that game because of  that. Team Fortress 2 Died when you introduced hats and shit.

Stop giving the amount of praise to Valve that you do....

I have mentioned most of this once before i know and there are more this, but this is it though, my patience ran out long time ago.
Now i (will) enjoy BF3, Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Rage, Dead Island, Assassin's Creed Revelations and Guild Wars 2 (there are more games) when they come out. Now I'm going back to Fallout New Vegas to explore the rest of the wasteland.

I will also not have time for mapping anyway, getting myself  two kittens (i might have them right now when you read this) so they will require my attention for some time. Will post a picture of them here when i have them, you know "pics or it didn't happen".

  1. So...This is it, your retiring from mapping. I was hoping for Silent Hill but I understand where your going with this, you patiently finished the alien map for valve to update which they never did. I'm also wandering or asking a favor for those silent hill skins you made, will you be uploading them or never releasing those skins because I love the skins you made for SH. Thanks for your time creating one of the best maps.

  2. I know that feel, and I and me are not the only ones. ***** hats, it's ridiculous...

I see they stopped caring about the community long ago. I had high exceptions... oh well.

    Kittens? Awww, I wanna see!

  4. Wow. You're such a baby. Valve is probably the only game company that actually responds to the fan's demands without becoming a complete bitch to its fans. Grow up and stop whining over silly things that you could easily over come. You complain that Valve doesn't serve to their fans, while you're not serving to your fans. Hypocrite.

  5. "@Anonymous said..."

Look up what the word Hypocrite stands for before using it. I would take you more seriously if your name wasn't "Anonymous", i take you for a ignorant 12 year old troll for now and i have time to spare.
They are fans of the CAMPAIGNS, when i tell them and explaining (in a mature manner) why i stopped working on the campaigns, they are mature enough to accept it and understands why.

Apparently, you never made a single source mod or any kind of mod the past 14 years for the source engine (HL 1 and 2).
Try working on a game engine that works 40-50% of the time, the ideas YOU WANT TO USE become useless. Then we have the nav tool, that one was broken on DAY 1 (L4D2) when i started working on the new Silent Hill campaign for L4D2, when i looked back why it didn't work at that time 1,5 years ago i understood why.
I used up 3 years of patience and waited. I want to see you use up years of patience and not "snap" in one way or another.

It is also ironic when you say that Valve responds to what the "fans" demands, the only community Valve response towards to is the fucking Hat Fortress 2 community, they bring them brand new entities to work with because the community whines like little "bitches", apparently, whining like a bitch works for them in the long run.

The community from Counter Strike whines like hell because of Valve breaking the simplest thing what made Counter Strike so good. CS:GO is another example of not listening to the community, Valve lives on the community. If Valve listened, WHY the hell are the "Fans" of CS still playing version 1.3 or whatever it is and not 1.6?

What you always failed to understand is that i have TOLD Valve for over the past 3 years that i told them with L4D1-2 is still being broken up to this day. The team that is working on those games takes years to give us even a tiny update, by the time we got the update, we have all moved on to something else.

Valve was better 12 years ago because of listening instead of shutting us of, not completely though. Since HL2...they went downhill fast.

Excuse me of me "whining over silly things that i couldn't overcome" since THE PROBLEMS ARE HARD-CODED INTO THE GAME ENGINES CODE.

    Ignorance is bliss.

Thank you for entertaining me of your ignorance, have a nice day.

  6. @Thaokun: I can try upload them on File Hosters and then post the links here in a "New Post" if that's ok with you?

What i did notice was that i forgot to skin the "exploded" part of the skin for the Boomers, so the original skin will be shown once they blow up. If that doesn't bother you then let me know.

  9. Leafo,I was shocked when I heard you stopped working on L4D campaigns but now I see why. It's a shame because I think you're one of the best L4D mappers out there.I was also wondering, there are many people who want to convert the SH1 campaign to L4D2 on L4D maps, are you going to give them permission?

Thanks and good luck in your future projects

  10. I understand, and I hope the rest of the community does too. You're a Top Notch Mapper, better than Valve by far. We'll miss your Maps, and I will continue to play your Silent Hill 1 Campaign as long as I can. I've played it since it was released, and I still play it to this day with my good friend, Pyramid Head. I would ask you if you could release the current progression of SH the Otherside of life. But, you probably want to keep it just in case you get to work on it on a later date (If they fix all of the issues). Thanks for taking your time to entertain and give to the community! We will not forget you.

  11. Long time passed since i have been here, but i returned to look how's your work are going. Well, things have not changed, too bad. Maybe the problems appear because you trying to create good thing, using bad material. You are seeking to perfect, but it is impossible.

You did the SH1 campaign. You DID IT. You complete it. And i love it very much. I don't know is it possible or no - to finish your SH campaign, but i believe - yes.

You said that you like to be creative. So, when you will get some rest, you want to do something again...maybe.

    My suggestion:
    1. Improve SH1 campaign, convert it for L42.
    2. Create Alien campaign for Alien Swarm.

I know what you will answer, but whatever, at least i tried.

  12. I feel exactly everything you've said. I've been waiting for the L4D Authoring Tools' model viewer to get fixed for 14 months now!! That's beyond ridiculous. Have fun!

  13. Wow! Only now I came across your maps for L4D, and I must say that I'm thrilled! All the work you've done is amazing! I know you aren't working on these maps anymore - maybe you won't even read this stuff I'm saying - but I had to say it, because I think good work must be acknowledged.

I'm very sorry to hear that you are retiring, but your reasons are fair... I guess you have made the right decision. I just hope you don't give up mapping for other engines.

  14. Leafo, I completely agree... Valve sickens me. I'm not sure if you're still around, but incase you didn't know it's gotten worse. Valve Greenlight and Workshop exist, only to allow Valve to make money from other peoples creations.

It was only a theory I had, but when I see your work, and see how it will never be finished I have enough proof to confirm it. For all Valve's talk about "Giving the community a serious chance" and all the praise they get for it, when it comes to any game other than TF2 they couldn't care less.

With L4D and HL2, you have people who pour their heart and souls for years, into creating campaigns, modifications and even complete overhauls for Valve games, only to be met with Valve denying even the most basic tools and equipment that any no-name TF2 fuck can get with ease. They usually don't even get recognition for their creations...

It's like a giant polouting corporation that claims to care about the enviroment, that contributes money and creates situations for other concerned people to contibute, trying to show how deeply they care, but when you actually look you realize that they really do not care. Not even slightly.

Everything that people make and contribute to TF2 only serves to make money for Valve in some small way, that's all they care about. Valve will never make money from L4D and HL mods because, back then, they actually cared about gaming and didn't add in-game stores, but sadly those days are over, and you'll probably never gain Valve's support for what you do... I'm sorry.

For what little it's worth, the Silent Hill campaign you created was the most enjoyable gaming experience I've had in a long time.
