I found a brick wall.....i can't destroy it.

I reinstalled Steam and Left 4 Dead 2 now. The first thing i did was compile the latest version of my map and analyzed the nav mesh. Same fucking damn problem.
Even the nav trouble report said that EVERY single ladder got disconnected, before the reinstall of everything and after.

The nav tool is Broken, period.

Ladders don't work.

It doesn't matter how many times i rebuild the ladder mesh or modify the surrounding nav meshes.

Nobody has a answer for this?

This is it folks.....if the shit doesn't work after a clean Steam and Game Reinstall (everything was updated from Steam's network) with NO CUSTOM content, then I'm not interested anymore.

Bye.

  1. I wish you the best of luck on completing your campaign. I can only think to remove the ladders entirely, but that would probably alter the mood of the campaign and look a bit awkward. I hope at the very least if you're feeling frustrated you think about taking a break from the Silent Hill campaign,if only to clear your head. Stay strong!
P.S. You had asked early for ideas on what influences to add to the campaign last month. You should try to check out Amnesia: The Dark Descent, if you can. It's only $10 dollars on steam, and it is an awesome example of indie game horror. Anyways, its a good game and might just give you some ideas to work with. Again, I'd like to thank you for your hard work, and wish you the best of luck.

  2. Gotta edit the original post a bit later.

It was disappointing that the issue couldn't be solved by reinstalling the game, since the problem itself is within the game. Doing a verifying of the cache even after the reinstall couldn't mend the wound.

I'm just going to take a break from this, how long, depends when the problem will be solved.

You said it yourself about the awkwardness and the atmosphere of the campaign might be "broken", that is why i refuse to release anything if i can't get a simple thing as a ladder to be part of it, its pointless, since it is part of the level design.

I am still leaning to create a Source Mod of this, if i get sick enough of waiting for a solution.
Then i don't have to worry about a freaking nav mesh that takes another 50% of your time.

    That's what i meant.
