Rant ( some shit are getting old fast ) and pictures.

/Rant on

 I don't know what the hell L4D2's problem is when it comes to the nav mesh, the ladders to be precise.
 There is NOTHING blocking the path (props or brushes) so there shouldn't be a fucking problem in the first place. Removing the ladder prop, adjusting the brush itself, place the ladder texture on top and bottom faces, rebuild the ladder nav and remove the "func_ladder" entity.....nothing worked, NOTHING worked.

For L4D1, this was never a problem which the SH campaign is the proof of it. I WISH VALVE would fucking stop BREAKING things that WORKED BEFORE....this shit is getting old. Now i have to rebuild some areas that has ladders....half broken game. For your information, i had this problem since day 1, over a year ago.


 The irony is that THIS LADDER works according to the nav_trouble bla bla, but not the other one that has NOTHING surrounding the area with compared to this one. Unbelievable....

I took pictures outside for the sidewalk for once, and here are the results.
Minor adjustments and then they are done.

Second map update.

There are tons of things to do still. I added and going to add more stuff that involves more towards the characters so you can feel more connected towards them. They talk about things that surrounds them at the point and time.

I went against myself by including the pitch black darkness, so i can add some interesting ideas that can support the pitch black darkness, since i think i have way to much lighting overall.

Some of you might have noticed that most part of this map that you have seen on these pictures are from Silent Hill 3. I always had that feeling of loneliness when running around there in the game, i didn't recreate that feeling in this map though.

The sewer area is almost done, but that's only 50% of the first part of the total map (25% in total). Then there is the forest part that will be quiet short and you will cross a road so that could give you an sense of the travel distance.

I all i need is 5 min away when it comes to materials (taking pictures and make them into textures), it is just a matter of getting out there and take photos. I am just waiting for the weather to stop being shitty so i can start working.
















I should start working on where i should place the different soundtracks now.

Posters.....It seems that i can't get it right.

My biggest problem now is....the damn poster for the campaign. Now you say that the first one i used was alright.
You are right, but that was for at that Time when i released the Beta. After a whole lot of brainstorming and what not, there are more and new never ending interesting ideas popping up all the time. Ideas evolves all the time.

It sure doesn't look that interesting to look at, but that is not the point with This poster.

Could be a little to hard to see it.

 Currently working on a area where you might feel some familiarity from SH3, just let me tell you this. A FLYING Tank (let me know if you want to know how to do this) is not to mess with at the sewer area.

Pictures from map two.

 I decided to draw a layout on a paper for the first half of map 2, so i didn't have to sit and think what i am going to build next all the time (the first map was already drawn and done in my head). I am like 25% done on the first half (since the second half of the map is done, more or less) and things are going smooth.
When i know the map is done, i am going add things that is less about running around and collecting keys to open locked doors and concentrate on things that concerns the story more. There are changes all the time, so i can't even predict on what to come.
I tried my best to include a soundtrack and sound effects that fit this map / atmosphere.

My best move was to rebuild the first half of this map, i never liked the old one at all.
